What is a Cabin on Wheels?

Oh, to get away to the mountains. Or maybe a week at the beach or the lake. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a little cabin of our own, to get away from home and enjoy the change in temperature and humidity. Take a seat on the front (or back) deck and watch as the light changes across the forest. Or waves. Or the farm. Or the mountains.

But where? How about everywhere! Or more accurately, wherever we park our travel trailer, our “Cabin on Wheels.” Right now, that’s a 2008 Keystone Passport Extra Lite 195 RB, pulled by a Chevy Silverado with over 170K miles.  We purchased it new, and have taken it from our home in southeast Virginia to Upstate New York, south to Florida and places in between on quick overnights, weekends and week-long trips.

If you’re still reading — thanks! If you’re wondering why we were compelled to start this site, here goes. We love to visit old favorite places and explore new ones, all while sleeping in our own comfortable bed. And we want to share our experiences and advice about living the Trailer Life with our friends and family — and friends we haven’t met yet.

About us — we are Tracy and Vic Sorensen. We have been married since 2005, and both love exploring the outdoors on foot, boat and bike, and learning about new places through local food and drink. We travel with our best boy, Blaze — a lab-beagle-high energy dog mix.
