Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park, Jacksonville, Florida
Hanna Park is a favorite stop for us when we travel to Florida. It’s a beautiful park with more than 200 sites, so you’re likely to be able to book a site, even during the busy winter months. Hanna Park also has a beautiful, dog-friendly beach (Blaze loved it!), and it’s close to Mayport Naval Station and Atlantic Beach.

Beer here! There are two craft brewery tasting rooms a short drive from the park: Green Room Brewing in Jacksonville Beach, and Reve Brewery & Taproom in Atlantic Beach. Tasty beers and friendly service at both places.
Pick up a paddle. We paddled on Lofton Creek in Yulee, about a 45-minute drive from Hanna Park. Lofton Creek has brown, tannic water and is slow moving. Lots of birds and other wildlife to see and a great way to spend the day. Launch at the Melton Nelson Boat Ramp in Yulee. If you don’t have your own boats, you can book a tour through Amelia Adventures.
Fresh seafood. Safe Harbor Seafood Market in Mayport is minutes away from Hanna Park. Pick up some local Mayport shrimp to grill. They also have a popular restaurant across the street.
